We decided that a current source was likely delivering more accurate force/acceleration to the ribbon than a voltage source and after playing with it for a couple of days, we put it away and went on to other projects.Ībout this same time, Kent and I began playing with full-range drivers, those loudspeakers which deliver bass, midrange and treble from one single cone. Our amplifier had a high output impedance and thus no damping factor, but we found that the ribbon in the tweeter didn't seem to need much damping factor, measuring and sounding a bit better without the matching transformer. Such circuits are fairly common in small chips which don’t generate the high current necessary to drive a loudspeaker. This kind of amplifier is known as a power transconductance amplifier. We built an audio current source that delivered 1 amp of AC current per input volt to a maximum of 10 amps. Well, of course entertainment is full of fringe elements.Ī couple of years ago, Kent English and I were playing around with various ribbon tweeters, noting how the ribbons themselves seemed perfectly happy being driven by a current source and without their usual matching transformer. A small minority of audiophiles thinks otherwise, and these are often people using low wattage tube amplifiers with unusual looking speakers. This belief has particularly been dominant since the development of high power solid-state amplifiers that began in the 1960’s. In SQLite, a column with type INTEGER PRIMARY KEY is an alias for the ROWID (except in WITHOUT ROWID tables) which is always a 64-bit.Conventional wisdom holds that a pure voltage source amplifier is ideal for audio applications, and generally designers of loudspeakers work to that assumption. The AUTOINCREMENT keyword imposes extra CPU, memory, disk space, and disk I/O overhead and should be avoided if not strictly needed. Whenever you create a table without specifying the WITHOUT ROWID option, you get an implicit auto increment column called rowid. Summary: in this tutorial, you will learn about SQLite AUTOINCREMENT attribute and when to use it in your in your table. ROWID (by whatever name you call it) is assigned a value whenever you INSERT a row. If you include a column of type INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, that column points at (is an alias for) the automatic ROWID column. This is in every SQLite table whether you ask for it or not. (Also known as a 'serial' or 'identity' column in other databases.). A quick example that shows how to declare an autoincrement field in a SQLite database table. The keyword AUTOINCREMENT can be used with INTEGER field only. We can auto increment a field value by using AUTOINCREMENT keyword when creating a table with specific column name to auto increment. SQLite AUTOINCREMENT is a keyword used for auto incrementing a value of a field in the table.

Ideally, warranty duration should be straight number but FM actually can handle it fine so there is no need to change your radio buttons. I used LeftWords() over Left() because you might have another product with a longer duration than 9 years. If you want to always get the same month (and USUALLY the same day), then I suggest you instead use:ĮxtendDate = Date ( Month ( InitialDate ) Day ( InitialDate ) Year ( InitialDate ) + LeftWords ( WarrantyDuration 1 ) ) ĮxtendDate - ( Month ( ExtendDate ) > Month ( InitialDate ) ) If careful you will NOT get consistent results. Alan gave you one approach but I think of a year as meaning the same month and day – only adding the warranty duration years. Even if you are convinced you don’t need a Products table, you can have the warranty duration handled automatically by hard-coding the evaluation on the Warranty duration field instead!Īlso, it would help to get clarity on what you mean by a year. The EndDate would calculate and pre-fill (by using the suggested Auto-Enter calculation) but pulling from the Products table. In fact, the warranty duration wouldn’t need to even be in this table. This would allow 1) adding more products as your business grows, 2) changing the warranty duration as needed without changing a hard-coded calculation and 3) removing the User’s burden of selecting the warranty duration. Ideally, you would have a Products table and store the warranty duration there. How are you structuring this? Is a User selecting the warranty duration in the radio button? If so, they shouldn’t need to. A lot of quests to be performed and dozens of puzzles are to be solved by your logic and strategy skills.
